With so many products on the market claiming to revolutionize your body, it’s hard to know which are worth the hype. Trying to cut through clever marketing and outrageous claims isn’t always easy, especially if you’re keen to get on with revitalizing your body and mind.
Whilst I’ve been hesitant to succumb to the lure of the powders and pills on offer in the health and fitness industry when I came across Science Based Green Detox powder it was too good to resist. With a slew of great Green Detox reviews and apparently reliable data supporting its claims, the Science Based Green Detox definitely seemed worth a try, but did it live up to its name?
First of all, who is Science-Based Green Detox aimed at? Was I the right candidate for the cure-all green powder or is it only for gym-goers with ripped biceps and an established six-pack? Fortunately (for me), the green detox isn’t just for athletes and fitness fanatics. In fact, it’s claimed that Science Based Green Detox is an effective nutritional aid for everyone.
But can a product really be effective for experienced athletes, in-shape marathon runners and less-in-shape beginners like me? I wasn’t so sure. Would this innocent green power turn me into Wonder Woman? Will I suddenly develop an aversion to chips and be reaching for kale instead? Should I start sending off entries for ultramarathons and endurance races?
Ok, so Science Based Green Detox isn’t going to turn me into an elite athlete just yet but its claim to benefit every type of person still seemed a little far-fetched. With this in mind, I decided to find out a little more about the man behind the product.
An established Nutrition and Business Coach, Thomas DeLauer developed Science Based Green Detox powder after a fitness journey of his own. Despite being an athlete in his younger years, DeLauer decided to take action when he tipped the scales at nearly 300lbs. Realizing he wanted to change his lifestyle, he set about incorporating his business mindset into his personal life.
After dropping almost 100lbs and reaching his target of 185lbs, DeLauer found fame as an expert in nutrition, diet, and mindset. Having appeared on the cover of numerous fitness magazines and written for various reputable publications, it seems Thomas DeLauer is well-respected in the industry.
With so many health products on the market, it’s refreshing to see a creator with the guts to put his name on the product, and DeLauer’s reputation gave me the much-needed reassurance when it came to starting my new regime.
The theory behind Thomas DeLauer Science Based Green Detox is that combining alkalizing greens, fruit, and veg with ‘nutrient-rich superfoods’ will energize and detox your body. Well, everyone knows fruit and veggies are good for you, so it seems plausible so far, right?
Unfortunately, my eye did stray to the little asterisk which pointed out that these claims haven’t been evaluated or verified by the Food and Drug Administration. Whilst nutrition supplements don’t have to be assessed by the FDA, I would have had more confidence in the product if it had FDA-backing.
According to the bottle, antioxidants may support a body detox by helping to flush toxins out of your system and chlorophyll, enzymes and phytonutrients can increase your energy and stamina. But it doesn’t stop there…B vitamins can also help your body to metabolize carbs, fats, and protein, which presumably aids with weight loss, and superfood nutrients can help to support organ and hormone function, which apparently leads to less stress on the body.
What’s more – Science Based Green Detox is soy-free, gluten-free and suitable for vegans, which puts it ahead of many of its competitors.
Okay, it all sounds good so far but it also sounds a little…vague. Eager to find out exactly how the greens detox drink was going to give me the body of my dreams, I took a closer look at the ingredients.
According to the bottle, one scoop of Science Based Green Detox powder serves up the following:
Having limited knowledge of my daily vitamin, antioxidant and kelp requirements, I wasn’t really too sure whether the above-listed ingredients were right for me or if a scoop of the Green Based Detox powder would give me everything I needed. Whilst one scoop provides more than 100% of the average daily requirement of Vitamin C, Niacin, B6 and B12, it falls short on the Choline, Manganese, Vitamin E and Copper. However, the suggested usage guidance does state that you should take 1 to 3 scoops per day to get the maximum benefit from the product, so this would increase the amounts of vitamins you’re getting. On the other hand, how much is too much? With one scoop delivering 333% of the daily value of Vitamin C and 250% of the daily value of Vitamin B12, I was somewhat concerned that 3 scoops a day could overload me.
Of course, with no daily values or recommended intake for other ingredients, such as the Betta Berry Antioxidants, organic powders, and milk thistle seed extract, it’s difficult for a newbie to know whether these amounts will have a beneficial effect. It seemed there was only one way to find out…
I may want to get all the benefits of kelp and broccoli, but that doesn’t mean I actually want to it. If this clever green powder could give me all my nutrients in chocolate mint flavor then sign me up!
At first glance, or smell, it didn’t seem that great. Or that chocolate mint-y. The actual taste, however, was surprisingly okay. Like other Science Based Green Detox reviews report, the taste isn’t too off-putting, with some green powder reviews claiming it had a ‘great taste’ and others being less emphatic.
All in all, for a healthy powder full of veggies, vitamins, and nutrients, the taste is certainly not as bad as you’d expect!
With claims of increased energy, improved immune function, toxin removal and reduced stress, there are lots of benefits associated with Thomas DeLauer’s green detox power. However, there can be some side effects too.
Typically, you can experience bloating, stomach aches, pain and/or diarrhea when you first start using Science Based Green Detox, although these can reduce over time as your body adjusts. Of course, serious or severe side effects could warrant medical attention and may require you to stop using the product. If in doubt, always consult a medical professional.
Although Science Based Green Detox doesn’t claim to be a weight loss product per se, I believe it can help you to lose weight. Providing you use green detox powder as intended and alongside a healthy diet and fitness regime, it could help you to get essential nutrients into your system and reduce weight.
Unlike some other products on the market, Science Based Green Detox powder isn’t advertised as a cleanse or food replacement, so you should use it in conjunction with a healthy intake of food. I certainly think green detox power can help you feel more trim and energized, which can give you the boost you need to hit the gym after a hard day.
Although I haven’t used Science Based Green Detox for long, I haven’t noticed any unpleasant side effects or negative effects. However, it hasn’t revolutionized my body just yet either. On the whole, I have felt better whilst using Science Based Detox and it’s something I’ll continue to use in the future.
Plenty of Science Based Green Detox reviews are positive, with many people citing positive results from using the product on a long-term basis. For some, the taste of the green detox power was too unpleasant to keep using it, whereas others found it ‘delicious’.
On average, the reviews I’ve seen have been on the positive side, with people describing the powder as ‘filling’, ‘works well’ and ‘giving energy’.

By taking Green Detox powder alongside a healthy, balanced diet I do think it could live up to at least some of its claims, and anything which secretly adds kelp to your diet gets a thumbs up from me!
