Recommended Kitchen Equipment

I’ve put together these resources and links to my recommended raw food kitchen equipment to make it easy for you to get your kitchen stocked up. I often get asked which blender I recommend, what type of dehydrator I use, and which is the best juicer. I’ve answered all of these questions and also gave you a few bonus items that make going raw even more fun like kelp noodles, spiralizers, and nut milk bags.

Recommended Raw Food Blenders

High End Blender

The Vitamix is definitely a top of the line blender. Yes, it’s expensive. But if you’re spending money anyway, you might as well get something that will last. The Vitamix comes with a crazy 7 year warranty, a 30 day no risk money back guarantee, and they’re even offering a 3 payment plan. Since I got my Vitamix I haven’t used another type of food processor. It’s enough to handle my blending and processing needs.

I use my vitamix two or more times per day. I make my super-smooth (no chunks!) green smoothies… and getting the vitamix helped me get my parents to start drinking more green smoothies because they go down smooth. I also use it to make pates, sauces, dressings, and desserts. Yum. 🙂

Mid to High End Blender

Blendtec Total Classic Original Blender with FourSide Jar

There is a lot of competition for “top blender” between the Vitamix and the Blentec. I often get asked which one is better, and whether my opinion is based on being an affiliate for Vitamix. The answer is that both blenders are great, and you should go with the one you’re able to afford.

This is a quality mid-range blender that will suit anyone who is just getting started with raw food. It will last a few solid years, and will make getting started with smoothies easier for you and your family. I’ve heard both good and bad about these top two blenders, and it’s normal to have a couple bad experiences with either one. My recommendation is for you to do a little research and see which features appeal to you the most and then get blending!

Recommended Raw Food Juicers

High End Juicer

Hurom HU-100 Slow Juicer, Snow White

This top of the line juicer uses a low speed technology system to crush then press foods for maximum nutrition with minimal waste. It’s surprisingly fast and incredibly quiet. A great investment for all your juicing needs.

When I upgrade my juicer, this will be the one I go for. I’ve heard that it’s extremely easy to clean and that it takes very little time to juice because it has a wide opening and you don’ t need to cut your fruits or veggies down before juicing.

Mid to High End Juicer

Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, Black and Chrome

This is the juicer I own. It’s got a heftier price tag, but because it uses a mastication system you’re actually getting more juice for your buck. Before I got this blender I always cringed when I saw how much juice was left in the pulp. Now the pulp is totally dry. I also loe that I can make raw banana ice cream, and nut butters using this juicer by changing the plate.

Low-Range Juicer

Breville BJE200XL 700-Watt Compact Juice Fountain

I’ve heard great things about the Breville Juice Fountain, and many raw foodies recommend it. One of the benefits is that it’s a good quality juicer, for a pretty fair price. It also has a wider opening, so you don’t need to cut fruits or vegetables as small to get them juiced.
