I use my vitamix two or more times per day. I make my super-smooth (no chunks!) green smoothies… and getting the vitamix helped me get my parents to start drinking more green smoothies because they go down smooth. I also use it to make pates, sauces, dressings, and desserts. Yum. 🙂
There is a lot of competition for “top blender” between the Vitamix and the Blentec. I often get asked which one is better, and whether my opinion is based on being an affiliate for Vitamix. The answer is that both blenders are great, and you should go with the one you’re able to afford.
This is a quality mid-range blender that will suit anyone who is just getting started with raw food. It will last a few solid years, and will make getting started with smoothies easier for you and your family. I’ve heard both good and bad about these top two blenders, and it’s normal to have a couple bad experiences with either one. My recommendation is for you to do a little research and see which features appeal to you the most and then get blending!

When I upgrade my juicer, this will be the one I go for. I’ve heard that it’s extremely easy to clean and that it takes very little time to juice because it has a wide opening and you don’ t need to cut your fruits or veggies down before juicing.
This is the juicer I own. It’s got a heftier price tag, but because it uses a mastication system you’re actually getting more juice for your buck. Before I got this blender I always cringed when I saw how much juice was left in the pulp. Now the pulp is totally dry. I also loe that I can make raw banana ice cream, and nut butters using this juicer by changing the plate.
I’ve heard great things about the Breville Juice Fountain, and many raw foodies recommend it. One of the benefits is that it’s a good quality juicer, for a pretty fair price. It also has a wider opening, so you don’t need to cut fruits or vegetables as small to get them juiced.

This is a great mini food processor it’s small but powerful.
This 17-piece high-speed mixing system provides exceptional convenience. Although the magic bullet WILL break down, I’ve gone through two of them myself. Buy only for travel or if you don’t plan on using it often.
This is the cadillac of food dehydrators. I’ve had mine for a few years now and I love having it to make raw crackers, cookies, breads, kale chips, and other dehydrated snacks. You can also buy them second hand, or opt for a cheaper smaller version. Most dehydrators don’t come with a temperature setting though, but the Excalibur does.
A great quality dehydrator at an affordable price. Space efficient and a quiet fan makes for food that is perfectly dehydrated.
Before I bought the Excalibur dehydrator I had one of these round dehydrators. They’re not the best, and you will need to make your own dehydrator sheets to make anything like fruit roll ups. There’s no temperature control, but if you want to start making dehydrated snacks this is the most affordable option!

One of the easy and delicious raw recipes that gets a lot of raw foodies excited is raw pasta! This type of pasta is usually made from spiral sliced vegetables like zucchinis or spaghetti squash. After using a spiralizer, you get angel hair pasta! Or at least something that imitates the texture and look of pasta, but tastes light and delicious.
This spiralizer is not as advanced as the Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer, but its a great basic spiralizer to start out with. I still use this one a lot, because it’s small, easy to clean, and works well.
I’m a big fan of making your own nut milks, and sprouting your own sprouts. This is the kind of nut bag I use, they are handmade in Vermont. I met the lovely lady who makes them, and it really made my day to know I’m helping local people every time I make some nut milk or sprout some mung beans.

Goji berries are a great superfood to have in your cabinet for many raw food recipes and are great as a snack on the go! I also like to make goji berry “tea” using fresh sliced ginger and warm water, it definitely keeps everything “warm” in the winter!

Spirulina’s one of natures richest source of carotenoids, B-Complex Vitamins, Thiamin, Riboflavin and vitamin B-12, Iron, and protein. It’s an important addition to any smoothie!
