How to Make Raw Ice Cream (aka The Easiest Vegan Ice Cream Recipe)

With the weather heating up in many parts of the world, why not indulge yourself with a bowl of fresh raw ice cream?

There a lot of different ways of making raw ice cream, and they range from super quick and easy to a little bit more involved.

My favorite way is also one of the easier ways of making raw ice cream. It involves using a juicer that has a blank attachment, and running frozen fruit through it. The added bonus is that you don’t need to buy another kitchen appliance (like an ice cream maker) if you already have a juicer.

To show you just how easy it is to make your own raw vegan ice cream, I’ve created this quick video for you to watch. (Click here if you can’t see the video or you’re reading via email.)

Raw Ice Cream Recipe Ingredients

  • Frozen Banana Slices
  • Frozen Strawberries

Run all the ingredients through your juicer, using the “blank” setting or attachment. Alternate between a few slices of banana and a few strawberries to create a fun strawberry banana swirl!

Feel free to brainstorm with different flavors by using different frozen fruits. Or by topping your raw ice cream with raw chocolate powder, cinnamon, or even a bit of vanilla.

I hope this has given you the inspiration to create fun new frozen summer treats for yourself and your family.

Rawgu Raw Entree or Main Meal Recipe

Rawgu Raw Food Recipe Video

Today I’m pleased to share a very special raw recipe video. The chef in this episode of Raw Food Switch TV is none other than my gentleman friend, Robin!

I know you will enjoy learning how to make a fun Chinese inspired “Ragu” dish, that can serve as an entree or a main dish. During the summer months, Robin and I often eat these Rawgu recipes for lunch using whatever vegetables we harvest from the garden.

  • Freshly cut Avocado or Olive Oil
  • Soy Sauce or Nama Shoyu
  • Broccoli or Cauliflower
  • Mushrooms
  • Any or all the vegetables that you want to add. :)

Cut and marinate the mushrooms with the diced ginger, garlic, and liquids/avocado. Then chop the remaining ingredients and add in. Let the whole thing marinate for 20 minutes or so, and your mouth will thank you for it!

Orange Chocolate Goji Berry Fudge

Orange Chocolate Goji Berry Raw Vegan Fudge
This delicious recipe is brimming with colorful antioxidants & superfoods!

One of the things that I don’t miss after going raw, are conventional deserts. I used to be the candy and cake girl, but now I no longer feel guilty to indulge my sweet tooth.

There are tons of healthy raw vegan desert recipes, and it’s just a matter of trying them out. I filmed this video to show you how to make this zesty Orange Chocolate Goji Berry Fudge!

The Ingredients

Grind the dried goji berries up first, then place all the other ingredients into the food processor except for the soaked goji berries and the orange zest. (If you used raw cashews instead of raw cashew butter, then grind those up before adding the rest of the ingredients.)

Then place your mixture into a serving bowl and hand mix the soaked goji berries and orange zest. Set the fudge to cool in the refrigerator for at least half an hour before serving. Garnish with the slices of your zested orange, and enjoy!

The Tools You’ll Need

If you have a high speed blender like a Vita-mix, then you can make the whole recipe in your Vitamix. However, you can just as easily make this recipe in your food processor. My recommended food processor is the KitchenAid 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor.

You can buy this food processor from Amazon, where it has a 4.5/5 star rating!

Also, you might want to pick up an orange zester that is better than the one I used in my video. It took me quite awhile to zest that whole orange, so I think you’d be better off using something like the Chef’n PalmZester Citrus Zester. Just saying.

The Beet Goes On: Raw Juice Video

In celebration of getting my new Omega Juicer, I’ve decided to post a few awesome fresh juice recipes. The first one of the series is called “The Beet Goes On” and it has a deliciously sweet taste, which will make you ask if it’s really good for you.

The Ingredients

  • 1 Beet, leafs and all
  • 4 Carrots
  • 3 Celery Stalks
  • 1 Fuji Apple (can be replaced with any type of apple)

The Tools You’ll Need

I swear by this juicer. It does leafy greens, root vegetables like carrots & beets, soft fruits and citrus, and wheatgrass. But it goes beyond the call of duty of the average juicer because it also makes delicious raw ice creams, raw nut butters, and even pastas! It has a 4.5/5 star rating on Amazon, and I’m over the moon for this juicer.
Omega Juicer
Omega Juicer Model 8005

I’ve been using it every single day since the day I got it. It’s just that good! The best part is that it’s really quiet, unlike my other juicer, so I don’t feel the need to wear earplugs while I juice.

If you’re on the fence about juicers, I wholeheartedly recommend the Omega Juicer Model 8005. It comes with a 10 year warranty, and it will save you a lot of money over the years. Because it uses a gear to extract the juice, instead of a high speed extractor, it gets more juice out into your glass, instead of into the pulp container.

Golden Garlic Salad Dressing

This is my favorite raw salad dressing. I make it often, and it disappears faster than I like to admit. It’s made with all kinds of yummy ingredients, and it goes with almost every salad.

The Ingredients

  • 1 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Raw Honey
  • Diced Ginger to taste
  • Diced Garlic to taste (be generous)

You can make this recipe with or without a blender. I’ve chosen to show the blended version, because it makes the dressing into a beautiful golden color!

Get The Tools You Need

My favorite new tool for the kitchen is the handy garlic press. It takes the ick factor out of dicing garlic and I absolutely couldn’t live without it! You can pick up a garlic presser like I used in the video through Amazon:

Enjoy the Garlic Goodness!

Note: Although I eat garlic on a fairly regular basis, some people may be allergic. Please adjust the dose or replace the garlic with other spices to your liking. Food is our medicine, and garlic truly does act as a medicine sometimes. I’ve been recommended to eat more “hot” foods by a Traditional Chinese Doctor, but your body might require more cold foods instead.
